Find a traditional Finnish sauna near you
A traditional Finnish sauna heats the air to roughly 70 to 90°C with an electric or wood-fired stove, and you ladle water on the hot stones for bursts of steam called löyly. Rounds usually last 8 to 15 minutes, followed by cooling off and rest.

Wood-fired vs electric
Wood-fired saunas give a softer, crackling heat and a smoky timber scent, and are often found in outdoor or waterfront settings. Electric stoves are easier to control and more common in city venues. Both give proper löyly.
